Les Benjamins finally opened the doors to its new flagship store on Bagdat Avenue. This flagship store is located in an iconic space in the city that was once home to Louis Vuitton. It features the brand’s latest collections and pieces from other sportswear brands like Nike and Adidas. The new space – the third in Istanbul – is unlike any of the label’s other stores.
The 1500sqm location is done in collaboration with Dong-Ping Wong, a regular contributor to the brand, and reflects the fusion of duality in design that encapsulates Les Benjamins style. The interior is plastered with concrete features cold, industrial walls and countertops that sit in contrast to traditional Turkish furniture crafted from warm wood and gold metal. The floor of the sneaker room and changing cubicles are covered with a deep red carpet that pays homage to the brand’s Asian heritage.
“It has to feel like home. My office, studio, and atelier will be on top, so it’s going to be a very different feeling for me,” says Bunyamin Aydin, Founder and Creative Director. “I’m excited to start this new chapter.” Aydin is also hopeful that the space will attract the wider community in Istanbul, as the space features a multi-purpose hub with OJAS vinyl players and two massive speakers.
The opening of the store doesn’t go without a commemorative collection. The brand has decided to create an exclusive collection that will commemorate the opening of this new store and features design inspiration from the store’s interiors. The collection will feature T-shirts, bucket hats, and tote bags with customised blueprints and coordinates of the store on Bagdat Avenue.
