Matthieu Blazy has just revealed the Summer 2023 campaign from Bottega Veneta, accompanied by the brand’s latest release – the Andiamo Bag. Like the show that preceded it, the Italian house‘s campaign transports viewers all around the world.
Starring fashion icon Kate Moss and Emma Balfour, the Bottega Veneta show was a visual portrayal of a journey where craft in motion and quiet power are ever present. The landscapes were imagined by Gaetano Pesce, who also created the set for the brand’s SS 23 show. The campaign is titled Andiamo, which translates to “Let’s go” in Italian, and is a tribute to the brand’s latest release – the Andiamo Bag, which serves as a focal point for the campaign.
As the campaign moves along, Blazy’s most recognizable pieces from his recent collection can be seen alongside the new addition. Leather basics, cotton tank tops and checked overshirts all make their way into the stunning scenes.
Throughout the campaign, models travel to different parts of the world, but all of them return at some point to Milan. Described as the world in a small room, the campaign highlights a stillness in motion. As characters pass by each other the world seemingly pauses for a moment as they take notice of each other.
The star of the campaign is undoubtedly the Andiamo Bag, the brand’s most recent expression of its famed intrecciato weave, which features here on a large, tote-styled carry all with accessories. The bag is a tribute to travel and to going places and is crafted entirely from paper calf leather, known for its supreme durability and luxurious softness. The bag can either be carried via a shoulder strap or be hand-held, bringing Blazy’s vision of functionality to the his latest design.
