HYT x Seddiqi: When Time Flows Like Heritage

Three one-of-one timepieces celebrating 75 years of horological passion and the art of curating beauty.

HYT x Seddiqi: When Time Flows Like Heritage
This Is Yung

In a year that marks Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons’ 75th anniversary, Swiss watchmaker HYT has crafted a trilogy of unique S1 Bespoke Edition timepieces that redefine the intersection between innovation and heritage. Each one, S1 Seddiqi Titanium Green, S1 Seddiqi Titanium Blue, and S1 Seddiqi Titanium Sand, captures a facet of Dubai’s evolution, translated through colour, movement, and the poetry of time in liquid form.

The collaboration is a dialogue between two worlds, Swiss precision and Middle Eastern vision, brought to life through a hydromechanical heartbeat and inscribed with the commemorative “7S” engraving.

Seddiqi

Each S1 Bespoke Edition is designed around a story, one that speaks to Seddiqi’s roots and Dubai’s rise.

Titanium Sand evokes the origin story: the desert landscapes where Ahmed Seddiqi founded his dream in 1950, a tribute to heritage and permanence. Titanium Green mirrors the oasis, a symbol of growth and prosperity, reflecting Seddiqi’s role in nurturing horological culture across the region. Titanium Blue looks ahead, towards the infinite horizon of the Arabian Gulf, where innovation and curiosity propel the brand forward.

Together, they embody the brand’s philosophy: to curate time not merely as a commodity, but as a cultural experience, one that blends heritage with modernity, craftsmanship with meaning.

Seddiqi

At the heart of each S1 Seddiqi Edition beats HYT’s calibre 501-CM, a 352-component mechanical movement that brings time to life through liquid. Two immiscible fluids, one coloured and one clear, move through a glass capillary, a nod to ancient water clocks, now reimagined with aerospace-grade precision. The boundary where they meet, the meniscus, becomes the hour marker, a dance of mechanics and physics that feels more like art than engineering.

This patented fluidic system, protected by seven international patents and awarded the Innovation Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, is both radical and poetic and a tangible reminder that time, like life, is in constant motion.

Seddiqi

Limited to three unique pieces, each S1 Bespoke Edition carries the Seddiqi family’s ethos in its DNA. As Mohamed Abdulmagied Seddiqi reflects, “We are not just selling watches; we are passing on a legacy.”
