Curated by Olivier Gabet, General Heritage Curator and Director of the Louvre’s Department of Decorative Arts, the exhibition highlights the profound influence of art on haute couture. Iconic creations from houses such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Jacquemus, and Dior are displayed in dialogue with masterpieces from the museum’s Decorative Arts collection. Visitors will see fashion pieces interacting with historical artefacts including elaborate tapestries, armour, and sculptures, illustrating how designers have drawn inspiration from artistic heritage through the centuries.

The inclusion of Rabih Kayrouz in Louvre Couture is a significant moment for Lebanese design. His signature style—characterized by architectural precision and fluid elegance—embodies a harmonious fusion of contemporary innovation and time-honoured craftsmanship, “I can’t help but think of the child I once was, dreaming of growing up. But the Louvre? No, I never dreamed of it. The Louvre was for others. And yet, here I am…,” said Keyrouz.
