In a move that’s shaking up the luxury fashion scene, Loewe (Instagram) has announced the appointment of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez as its new creative directors. Best known for founding Proenza Schouler, the duo has been shaping contemporary fashion for over two decades. Now, they’re taking their boundary-pushing aesthetics and craft-driven approach to the Spanish fashion house, starting in April.
The talented pair are replacing Jonathan Anderson who, as we reported last week, stepped down as Creative Director following 11 years of exemplary service.
McCollough and Hernandez first crossed paths at the prestigious Parsons School of Design, where their shared vision for modern craftsmanship laid the foundation for Proenza Schouler. The brand quickly became a global fashion powerhouse, earning them five CFDA ‘Designer of the Year’ and ‘Accessories of the Year’ awards.
Their appointment at Loewe signals an evolution for the house, which has spent 179 years honing its legacy in leather craftsmanship and avant-garde design. Known for their innovative tailoring and bold artistic sensibilities, the duo is expected to bring fresh creative energy to Loewe’s collections across womenswear, menswear, leather goods, and accessories.
Speaking about the transition, Loewe’s CEO Pascale Lepoivre expressed excitement about the new creative direction: “Their vision and creativity are a perfect match for the codes of the house that we have built, and I am excited to see them shape its future.”
McCollough and Hernandez are clearly hyped for the future, “We are incredibly honoured to join Loewe, a house whose values and mission align closely with our own. We look forward to working alongside its extraordinary teams and artisans, whose talent—under the exceptional leadership of Jonathan Anderson—has made Loewe a cultural force.”

Loewe has been riding a wave of critical and commercial success under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, blending heritage craftsmanship with a contemporary artistic edge. As Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez step into this new role, fashion insiders are eager to see how their unique approach will shape the brand’s next era.
One thing is clear: with this powerhouse duo at the helm, Loewe is set to push boundaries, redefine luxury, and continue captivating a new generation of fashion enthusiasts.
