Jonathan Anderson exits Loewe after over a decade of at the height of luxury fashion.
Jonathan Anderson, the creative visionary behind Loewe (Instagram) for the past 11 years, is stepping down as the House’s creative director. His departure marks the end of a transformative era that propelled Loewe to new heights, blending modern luxury with deep-rooted craftsmanship.
Since joining in 2013, Anderson reshaped Loewe’s identity, turning it into a cultural powerhouse revered for its bold artistic direction and commitment to craft. His leadership saw the rise of some of the brand’s most iconic pieces, including the now legendary Puzzle bag, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. More than just designing, Anderson championed craftsmanship, establishing the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize to spotlight endangered artisanal skills worldwide.
Reflecting on his time at the House, Anderson expressed his gratitude: “I have been lucky enough to be surrounded by people with the imagination, skills, and resourcefulness to bring my ambitious ideas to life. As my chapter closes, I will watch with pride as Loewe continues to grow.”
Loewe’s CEO, Pascale Lepoivre, honoured Anderson’s contributions, praising his creative genius: “With him at the helm, Loewe reached international acclaim. His influence will be felt for years to come.” Similarly, Sidney Toledano, Chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group, acknowledged Anderson as “one of the greatest artistic directors of our time, leaving behind a rich, craft-driven legacy.”
Anderson’s departure signals an exciting new phase for both the designer and the House. As fashion enthusiasts speculate on Loewe’s future direction, one thing is certain—Anderson’s impact will remain woven into the fabric of the brand.
