Streetwear’s next big link-up lands in East London this month. Medina (Instagram) and Shabab International (Instagram) are bringing their first-ever collab to London’s 123 Bethnal Green Road from 21–24 August. Across four days, the showcase will reveal unreleased drops, a layered crochet-and-stonewashed tee designed together, and the shared energy of two brands shaping how North African and Gulf streetwear speaks to the world.
Medina has built its name by twisting everyday staples into statement pieces, layering bold cuts, textures, and nods to North African heritage. Shabab International, founded in 2014 by Cheb Moha and his twin sister Zainab Hasoon, has become a Dubai favorite for its contemporary designs that keep things clean yet street-ready.
The collab came about naturally. “We’ve admired each other’s work from a distance over the last few years and once we got to spend time together and see things on a personal level, we found space and time to organically create this moment together,” Moha says.
The choice of London isn’t random. For Shabab, it’s about building where the community already exists. “From Shabab’s perspective we feel like we have a community here to build with and Medina’s presence here adds a nice touch, that’s why we choose London. There is definitely a cross over. Hopefully we can do more cities in the future as well, inshallah,” Moha explains.
Front and center is the layered long sleeve crochet t-shirt, a piece that speaks both languages at once. “This is the perfect combination of both of our worlds, combining techniques from Shabab, that include stone-washing, and the texture from Medina with their crochet patterns,” Moha says. It’s the drop that stitches the collab together, but it’s not the only surprise. The four-day showcase will also unveil a series of unreleased designs that push both brands’ boundaries.
For Moha, this London moment is only the beginning. “Vol.2 is on the way, we have a lot work that we want to do together,” he says. As for now, the focus is on celebrating the first edition. “We hope everyone comes down and has a good time, see you there London!”
