New Balance (Instagram) has dropped the curtain on its latest offering, the WRPD Runner. The Sea Salt colourway debuts exclusively in the MENA region on August 23rd.
The WRPD Runner transcends conventional notions of a classic New Balance lifestyle silhouette, in a contemporary, sleek design. Merging the realms of trendsetting aesthetics and technological prowess, New Balance reimagines the familiar to create a fresh, futuristic narrative.
“The WRPD Runner is an audacious creation born from the mesmerizing intersection of elegance and athleticism,” reveals Charlotte Lee, the senior footwear designer at New Balance. “While the upper exudes refined simplicity and unparalleled craftsmanship, the sole boasts an artful fusion of FuelCell technology—a pinnacle of running innovation. The fluid contours of the foam coalesce seamlessly with the abstract motifs of avant-garde design, conjuring an exquisite illusion of perpetual motion.”
In a nod to New Balance’s iconic running lineage, the upper elegantly echoes retro running aesthetics through a futuristic prism. The oval shape creates a sense of both nostalgia and aspiration, deftly encapsulating the essence of timeless athleticism.
At the core of the WRPD Runner lies soft-sculpted FuelCell technology. This marvel of engineering envelops your stride in a cocoon of cushioned support. A midfoot stability post and forefoot cushioning provide comfort, while the dramatic crash pad design in the heel adds an unexpected flourish.
The outsole design balances form and function. Its sinuous lines wrap around a midsole adorned with a unique, undulating tread pattern creating a simple, yet attractive that’s bound to catch the eye.
The Sea Salt colourway is debuting on August 23 at select stores across the region.
