Dubai’s dining landscape continues to evolve, shifting away from spectacle and toward spaces designed for everyday moments. The latest concept to reflect this evolution is OTHER, a contemporary, design-led neighbourhood destination now open in Dar Al Wasl. Created for moments that feel familiar yet thoughtfully elevated, OTHER offers a fluid experience that transitions seamlessly from daytime coffee rituals to relaxed evening dining.

By day, OTHER centres around pastries, specialty coffee, and crafted mocktails, served in a light-filled, welcoming setting. The mood is unhurried and approachable, inviting guests to settle in, and not just pass through. As evening arrives, the space shifts naturally into a more defined dining experience, shaped by seasonal, produce-led menus and shared plates designed for connection.
Signature dishes include the Spicy Beef Tenderloin, the Hotdog & Caviar Sandwich, and the OTHER Wagyu Beef Burger, each reflecting an intuitive, ingredient-driven approach to cooking. Rather than leaning into complexity, the menu prioritises flavour, balance, and ease, mirroring the ethos of the space itself.

Design plays a central role in shaping OTHER’s identity. Developed by The Food District and designed by VERHAAL, the interior balances bold colour moments with soft textures and tactile materials. The result is a space that feels expressive yet comfortable, contemporary without being overly curated.
Rather than following trends, the design prioritises longevity and adaptability. Bright and open in the morning, relaxed and atmospheric by night, the space evolves alongside its guests, reinforcing a sense of rhythm and return.

The name OTHER reflects the idea behind the concept: something familiar, but not quite like anything else. It plays with contrast, simplicity elevated through detail, a casual setting shaped with intention, and a contemporary environment that feels lived-in rather than staged. “With OTHER, we wanted to build a place that feels good the moment you step in — not overly complicated, not trying too hard, just honest food and a space people enjoy being in,” says Mahmood Al Khamis, Founder of The Food District. “Every concept we create has its own spirit, and OTHER carries that same sense of authenticity, but with a new kind of ease. It’s the kind of place we always felt was missing from the everyday dining landscape.”
OTHER joins The Food District’s growing portfolio of homegrown concepts, including Origami, Moon Slice, and DROP. While each brand has its own identity, they share a commitment to craft, creativity, and spaces that feel personal and grounded within their communities.

Following its official opening, OTHER will roll out a series of first looks, soft-launch previews, and community-focused moments in the weeks ahead, further embedding itself into the rhythm of Dar Al Wasl.
