This summer, the Aegean coast welcomes a bold new culinary chapter as Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum (Instagram) debuts not one but two outposts of the celebrated Japanese dining concept ROKA (site). Opening exclusively at the luxury resort, ROKA and ROKA by the Beach mark a significant expansion for the brand and the hotel’s gastronomic offering, now totalling 14 restaurants and bars.
Known for its Robatayaki-style cuisine and contemporary Japanese flavours, ROKA was founded by Rainer Becker and Arjun Waney, also behind acclaimed dining destinations Zuma and Inko Nito. The Bodrum launch signals the brand’s inaugural venture into the Turkish market, joining the ranks of Hakkasan and Gigi Bodrum to further position the resort as a Mediterranean hub for luxury hospitality and global culinary excellence.
ROKA’s main restaurant, perched with panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, delivers an immersive, open-air dining experience. Guests can expect the brand’s signature sushi, sashimi, and expertly grilled dishes prepared on a dramatic robata grill at the heart of the space. Evenings are designed for ritual: the light at sunset, meticulously crafted cocktails, and the smoky theatre of the open kitchen blend seamlessly with the coastal surroundings. ROKA Bodrum is open daily from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
For daytime indulgence, ROKA by the Beach brings a lighter expression of the brand to the resort’s private shoreline. Open from 12 PM to 5:30 PM for both guests and visitors, the beachside venue offers a curated selection of ROKA favourites alongside a relaxed cocktail and wine list. The turquoise backdrop and soft rhythm of the sea elevate the experience beyond casual dining into something effortlessly transportive.
The launch of ROKA’s first beachfront concept signals more than a culinary expansion, it marks a moment for Bodrum itself.
