On December 2nd, the 2024 Fashion Awards, organised by the British Fashion Council (Instagram) returned to London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall, bringing together the global fashion elite to celebrate the industry’s brightest stars. Hosted by the BFC and presented by Pandora, the event wasn’t just about recognizing creativity and innovation—it also spotlighted the profound impact of fashion on culture, sustainability, and inclusivity.
This year, the awards were a testament to the brilliance of both seasoned legends and rising stars. The highlight of the night was Jonathan Anderson, crowned Designer of the Year for his work with JW Anderson and Loewe, reaffirming his status as one of the most influential creatives shaping contemporary fashion. Grace Wales Bonner and Simone Rocha took home the British Menswear and Womenswear Designer of the Year awards, respectively, for their groundbreaking contributions to their categories.
Among the other notable wins, Alex Consani claimed Model of the Year, while Tyler Mitchell was celebrated with the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, honouring his exceptional contribution to photography and visual storytelling. Meanwhile, Tom Ford was recognized with the Outstanding Achievement Award for his extraordinary career, and Gucci’s We Will Always Have London campaign, led by Sabato De Sarno and captured by Nan Goldin, earned a Special Recognition Award.
Emerging talent was also in the spotlight, with Marco Capaldo of 16Arlington and Priya Ahluwalia of Ahluwalia receiving accolades for their innovative approaches to womenswear and menswear. The BFC Foundation Award went to Chopova Lowena, marking their influence on contemporary design supported by BFC initiatives.
