Some houses chase trends; Balenciaga (Instagram) bottles time. The Maison returns to the world of scent with a collection of ten fragrances that treats history as raw material, not museum glass, an olfactory wardrobe built on tension, fusion and fearless craft. More than seventy-five years after Cristóbal Balenciaga’s debut perfume, Le Dix, the brand’s new chapter reads as both tribute and reboot, honouring the House’s past while pushing perfumery into a bolder register.
Born from a fifteen-year archival search that unearthed a long-forgotten 1947 flacon of Le Dix, the project starts with a resurrection and ends with a rethink. The refillable bottles were created from scans of the original and faithfully reproduced, complete with a glass globular cap and a hand-tied ribbon; the packaging carries a deliberate patina, echoing the trace of time. Even the original Le Dix logotype resurfaces, set inside Balenciaga’s signature industrial grey. Made, sealed and packaged in France, every detail underscores the collection’s dialogue between past and present.

The scents tell the same story. Each of the ten parfums explores a distinct experience, precious oils meeting structure, heritage techniques rubbing shoulders with high-tech signatures. Rather than a single “house note”, you get volume and silhouette: fragrances designed to project, to cocoon, to surround, the skin becomes architecture. Across the range, colours deepen from luminous clarity to smoke-tinted facets before landing, dramatically, on opaque obsidian; intensity, rendered chromatic. Balenciaga couture, bottled.
Think of it as a study in duality, couture rigour with contemporary science of scent, made for wardrobes that mix vintage with next-gen. The line doesn’t chase nostalgia, it metabolises it, turning archival codes into today’s ritual. It’s fashion logic, translated into spritzes.
The collection debuts on 10 September 2025 at the Balenciaga Fragrance Store, housed at the brand’s historic address: 10 avenue George V, 75008, Paris and select Balenciaga locations in Europe and North America and on balenciaga.com, before progressively rolling out across the Middle East, Asia and worldwide.
