Winfred Yavi (Instagram), a Kenyan-born Bahraini athlete and champion in track and field, first represented Bahrain in 2016 and won three gold medals at the Asian Games. In 2023, she became Bahrain’s first steeplechase medalist at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Yavi shattered the 2008 Olympic record to win gold in the 3,000-metre steeplechase.
