Yumna Al-Arashi (Instagram), a Yemeni-Egyptian-American artist, uses still and moving images to explore how visual narratives shape our world. Growing up in the US, she was inspired to challenge stereotypes in Western media. After earning her MFA from Zürich University of the Arts, Al-Arashi’s multidisciplinary practice expanded, with her acclaimed film Rage earning a 2024 CIRCA Prize nomination and her debut monograph, Aisha, published by Edition Patrick Frey that same year.
