Vacheron Constantin continues its legacy of technical mastery and refined craftsmanship with three new interpretations of the Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin. Presented in a 36.5 mm case measuring only 8.43 mm thick, the new models embody a contemporary homage to Geneva’s long tradition of Haute Horlogerie while maintaining the Maison’s timeless design language.

The collection introduces two non-gem-set models in 18K 5N pink gold and 18K white gold, marking the first time the Traditionnelle line has been offered in this case size without gem setting. Completing the trio is a third model in white gold with a diamond-set bezel, offering an added touch of brilliance while preserving the purity of the design.

Deeply rooted in the spirit of 18th-century watchmaking, the Traditionnelle collection reflects the aesthetic codes that have defined the Maison since its founding in 1755. The stepped round case, fluted caseback, slender bezel and straight-sided lugs create a profile that is both classic and contemporary. The dial remains faithful to traditional watchmaking with a railway minute track, faceted Dauphine hands and applied gold baton hour markers, all designed to enhance clarity and balance.

At the heart of each timepiece lies the Manufacture calibre 1120 QP, a self-winding movement that integrates a perpetual calendar and moon-phase display within an ultra-thin architecture. Composed of 276 components and measuring only 4.05 mm thick, the calibre reflects Vacheron Constantin’s expertise in both complex complications and ultra-slim movements. The perpetual calendar automatically adjusts for the irregularities of the Gregorian calendar, including leap years and months of varying lengths, requiring no manual correction until the year 2100.

The movement’s technical sophistication is matched by meticulous hand-finishing. Though hidden beneath the dial, the mainplate is circular-grained, while the sapphire caseback reveals bridges adorned with Côtes de Genève, hand-bevelled edges, satin-finished jewel sinks and polished gear teeth. The oscillating weight, decorated with Geneva stripes and crafted with a 22K gold outer segment, is open-worked in the shape of the Maison’s Maltese cross emblem.

Design details subtly distinguish the three models. The pink gold version presents a harmonious palette, with matching Dauphine hands and hour markers and a dark blue moon-phase display paired with a deep blue alligator strap. The white gold version introduces contrast through pink-gold hands and markers set against a silver-toned opaline dial and a lighter blue moon-phase display, complemented by a light brown alligator strap. The diamond-set white gold model embraces a more luminous aesthetic, with grain-set diamonds adorning the bezel, lugs and crown, balanced by a cool opaline dial and a dark blue strap.

With these three new interpretations, Vacheron Constantin reaffirms its philosophy of balancing technical innovation with timeless beauty, presenting watches that honour the traditions of Haute Horlogerie while remaining deeply relevant to the present.
