Geometry has never felt this alive. With its latest Haute Joaillerie chapter, Chopard transforms the Ice Cube collection, minimalist icons since 1999, into a work of wearable architecture. Sculpted by Light is more than a tagline; it’s a statement of form, fluidity, and brilliance. Each piece refracts light with quiet confidence, celebrating the Maison’s mastery of ethical gold and artisanal precision.
When Caroline Scheufele first envisioned Ice Cube, it was about purity and proportion. Today, that vision expands into movement and expression. “ […] we pushed its language even further – into volume, movement, and expression,” says Scheufele, Chopard’s Co-President and Artistic Director. “I wanted the pieces to feel wearable yet unexpected, like modern art for the body.”
This new iteration translates that philosophy into daring shapes, into a collection that feels as much a study in light as it does in luxury.
At the collection’s centre sits a modular necklace crafted in ethical rose and white gold. Nine articulated rows of cubes, some mirror-polished, others diamond-paved, shimmer like a living skyline. The necklace can be transformed by removing rows in sets of three, echoing the stacking nature of Ice Cube rings and bangles, but with monumental scale and sculptural flow.
Bracelets and a versatile pin mirror the same architectural rhythm. Offered in three- or six-row versions, they recall city towers catching the morning sun, a testament to Chopard’s in-house polishing techniques, perfected on uneven surfaces few jewellers would dare attempt.
Art Deco makes a bold return through Asscher-cut diamonds that crown two standout creations: a 3-carat ring where the stone is placed diagonally across twin bands of white gold, and detachable earrings that play with asymmetry and balance. Each piece blurs the boundary between geometry and glamour.
Fronting the new campaign, Sculpted by Light, Bella Hadid embodies the Ice Cube ethos against a dreamlike cityscape captured by photographer Charlotte Wales. “I’ve been a longtime admirer of Chopard given their gorgeous craftsmanship and commitment to sustainability. Their designs are so empowering and always give me a sense of confidence whenever I’m lucky enough to wear one of their pieces” says Hadid.
Crafted entirely from 18-carat ethical gold, the Ice Cube Haute Joaillerie capsule reaffirms Chopard’s Journey to Sustainable Luxury. These cubes will never melt, and their brilliance is impossible to ignore.
