The delicate organza bow, tied at the neck of the streamlined shape, is adorned with fine embroidery that unfurls into a dazzling spring garden. This intricate design extends into a miniature trunk with golden studs, embodying the fresh, floral essence of Miss Dior.
Eva Jospin, known for her monumental cardboard installations, embraces a new medium with this project. Her collaboration with Dior is rooted in a shared history of creative partnerships. Jospin has previously designed dreamlike décors for Maria Grazia Chiuri’s runway shows, making her an ideal artist to bring this vision to life. “The constraint of working on a small object – a first for me – turned out to be a stimulating challenge. My starting point was a floral embroidery that I had already created for Miss Dior and which is currently on display in the Galerie Dior at 30, Montaigne. The plan was to manage to reduce it to a few centimetres for the bow on the bottle, while expressing its entire essence. The lively floral and branch pattern that I designed managed to blossom on barely a couple of centimetres of clear organza. The miniature trunk was also designed as an enchanting garden that expresses all the beauty of the fresh, floral springtime universe of Miss Dior,” said Jospin of the collaboration.
Jospin’s work for the Miss Dior Prestige Edition began with a floral embroidery she created for Dior, currently displayed in the Galerie Dior at 30 Montaigne. The challenge was to translate this expansive design into a miniature form without losing its essence. The result is a lively floral and branch pattern that blossoms on just a few centimeters of clear organza, a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship involved.
The miniature trunk, designed as an enchanting garden, captures the beauty of a fresh, floral springtime. Each panel of the trunk is finely embroidered and assembled by the skilled artisans of the Christian Dior Couture studios, ensuring every detail is perfect.
The embroidered bow is brought to life by the Chanakya ateliers in Mumbai, renowned for their expertise in traditional Indian hand-embroidery techniques. These ateliers have contributed to numerous Dior runway shows, creating spectacular dresses and collaborating with artists to design show décors.
The Chanakya School of Craft, founded in 2017, plays a crucial role in this project. The school empowers Indian women by teaching them traditional embroidery techniques, enabling them to achieve the status of master artisans and gain autonomy in their communities. Through this collaboration, Dior and Eva Jospin not only celebrate artistic excellence, but also support the empowerment of women artisans.
At the heart of this exquisite creation is the Miss Dior perfume, the latest composition by Francis Kurkdjian. This fragrance is a joyous blend of jasmine and delightful fruity gourmand notes, heightened by elegant woods.
