Miu Miu (Instagram) is back with its fourth limited edition Upcycled collection, featuring Denim and Patch bags.
Launched in 2020, Miu Miu Upcycled beautifully captures the essence of vintage clothing and champions circular design practices. It narrates tales of garments and their wearers, emphasizing the significance of history and weaving new stories for the present and future.
In 2024, Upcycled Denim takes center stage, focusing on pre-2000 upcycled jeans that the House has sourced globally. Known for their enduring quality and prized patina, denim becomes a canvas for reimagined wardrobe classics. The process involves meticulous handcrafting, preserving outer seams, and transforming the material into timeless pieces – from wide-legged jeans to trucker jackets, each embodying the spirit of circularity.
Inspired by 1950s haute couture, flower embroideries reminiscent of the Spring/Summer 2022 season are reborn in black, handsewn with silk chiffon petals and exquisite crystals. The pieces boast a leather label imprinted with the Upcycled logo and an internal tag in starched white canvas, echoing the brand’s commitment to heritage.
A new inclusion is the Miu Miu Upcycled Patch bag collection, utilizing leather remnants from Miu Miu designs to craft pieces infused with heritage, respecting tradition while enriching the contemporary.
Breathing life into the 2024 Upcycled collections are Ever Anderson and Huijia Chen, captured through the lens of Jet Swan. Each image is a study of character, casting, and clothing, immortalizing stolen moments that are truly one-of-a-kind.
The Upcycled journey began with 80 unique dresses, evolved into a Levi’s collaboration, and showcased leather jackets on Miu Miu’s Paris runway for Fall/Winter 2022. All Upcycled collections remain strictly limited.
The latest collection is available in select Miu Miu stores worldwide and on miumiu.com.
