Montblanc: A Fusion of Heritage and Innovation

At the heart of Paris Fashion Week, Montblanc (Instagram) returned, under the guidance of creative director, Marco Tomasetta, showcasing a harmonious blend of heritage and innovation. Media, influencers, and VIP guests, including Zinedine Zidane, their latest ambassador, Rupert Friend, Stella Maxwell, Bryanboy, Veronika Heilbrunner, Justin O’Shea and Alex Pettyfer gathered for breakfast at La Galerie Bourbon to witness the Maison’s latest leather collections in the sumptuous salons and galleries of a historic venue, recently restored to its former glory.

With a focus on “The Desk” as the latest theme, Tomasetta eloquently emphasised the often-overlooked significance of this sacred space, recognising it as the creative nucleus for designers, writers, and creatives alike, inviting guests for a seat at the desk. Drawing inspiration from Montblanc’s rich archives, he skilfully pays tribute to the brand’s history by seamlessly blending tradition with a forward-looking approach. Tomasetta’s commitment to durability and timelessness manifests in staple products that transcend fleeting trends.

Guests, welcomed by a grand Meisterstück installation coffee cart in the courtyard, were introduced to the event by an ode to the Maison’s most iconic instrument, in its 100th anniversary. Montblanc, known for its savoir-faire, presented androgynous pieces reflecting purity and durability. Tomasetta’s goal, rooted in his belief that fashion should be timeless, is evident in the seasonal colours and classic pieces that fit the present with an eye on the future.

Formerly the residence of the Spanish royal family, La Galerie Bourbon, post-extensive renovations, provided an elegant backdrop imbued with creativity and inspiration. Among its most distinguished guests was Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, drawing inspiration for Le Petit Prince during his stay.

Montblanc, synonymous with excellence, continues to push the boundaries of innovation and expression. As words like pleasure, travel, and writing come to mind, Tomasetta’s approach mirrors his sculptural background—creating with the right proportion, elements, and a commitment to timeless fashion in a dynamic, ever less seasonal industry.
