Prada Re-Nylon Campaign – Sustainable, Stunning

A testament to a material and to sustainability.

Prada Re-Nylon Campaign – Sustainable, Stunning
This Is Yung

Since its inception in 2019, the Prada Re-Nylon Collection has embodied the brand’s ethos of innovation and responsibility. By converting all production of virgin nylon to regenerated nylon, Prada (Instagram) has made a bold statement in the luxury fashion industry. This symbol of Prada’s design philosophy, has been reinvented through sustainable practices, reflecting the brand’s evolution and commitment to environmental stewardship.

Re-Nylon

Featuring actors and activists Emma Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch, photographed by Willy Vanderperre, the campaign goes beyond fashion, highlighting Prada’s partnership with UNESCO as they work to preserve our oceans. For over four decades, Prada has used nylon across accessories and ready-to-wear to redefine modern elegance. With the Re-Nylon Collection, Prada embraces ECONYL, a regenerated nylon yarn sourced from ocean and landfill plastic, along with textile fibre waste from around the globe. Through a circular approach to production, Prada creates high-quality material that can be endlessly recycled.

Re-Nylon

The 2024 campaign showcases timeless pieces from the Re-Nylon Collection, worn by Watson and Cumberbatch, against the backdrop of the ocean. A portion of proceeds from the collection supports SEA BEYOND, an educational program launched by Prada Group and UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. SEA BEYOND aims to raise awareness and promote sustainability and ocean literacy among young generations worldwide.

A fantastic initiative, Prada’s efforts go some way to tackling fashion’s impact on our environment.
