Fresh off the launch of its FW/22 collection, collab kings Supreme are at it again. Well, possibly. No, we’re not talking about the photo tee with Andre 3000, this is something bigger, better, and a whole lot shinier. Now, before we get into the details, let us tell you that at this stage it is still a rumour. However, word out on the street, is that Supreme is linking up with Rolex for a limited-edition Oyster Perpetual Date.
If the rumoured Supreme x Rolex Oyster Perpetual does eventually become reality, it would be Supremes’ biggest link-up for its series of collaborations for the season. A mock-up version of the watch leans to a stainless-steel construction accompanied by a bright red dial featuring ‘Supr’ in white. The watch’s face takes inspiration from the streetwear brand’s iconic box logo motif. Other than the mock-up, the two brands are tight-lipped about the whole thing, but YUNG hears that the official collaboration could also include several accompanying items.
Of course if the collab does come to fruition, it wouldn’t be the first time the world’s number one streetwear brand and the iconic watchmaker have worked together. In 2013 we saw the release of Supreme’s Friends & Family Rolex Submariner, which launched as part of its SS/13 collection. The watch fetched upwards of $100,000, making it one of the rarest pieces in both the streetwear and horological worlds – no mean feat. The collaborative submariner featured a classic Rolex silhouette with a black bezel and dial, and the Supreme box logo printed on the case back.
If the previous collection is anything to go by, the Supreme x Rolex Oyster Perpetual could come in at quite a cost, with only the most dedicated (and financially mighty) hypebeasts being able to play. Stay tuned for more on the Supreme x Rolex Collaboration.
