In a moment that bridges Beirut and Riyadh, Lebanese designer Ahmed Amer unveiled an exclusive collection by his label amer at Harvey Nichols Riyadh, marking a significant regional expansion for the Beirut-based label. The launch brings together amer’s signature ready-to-wear pieces alongside selected designs from the Horizon SS26 collection, offering Saudi audiences a deeply personal yet culturally resonant body of work.

Rooted in emotional storytelling, the exclusive edit reflects Amer’s journey as both illustrator and designer. His organic line drawings meet intricate Levantine embroidery, creating garments that feel intimate and expressive. Shades of blue and soft pastel spring tones dominate the collection, evoking a quiet escape to the sea amid chaos. The palette captures both personal reflection and collective memory, forming a cohesive narrative that speaks to displacement, longing, and hope.

Founded in Beirut, amer is built on contrast. The name itself merges the designer’s family name with the French word for “bitter,” hinting at the brand’s exploration of duality and emotional depth. Through ready-to-wear and home accessories, amer embraces the bittersweet aspects of life, weaving memories and feeling into every piece.

Ahmed Amer’s path to regional acclaim has been shaped by both resilience and innovation. After studying Interior Architecture and refining his craft at Creative Space Beirut, he went on to participate in Project Runway, win the Open My Med competition, and receive the Fashion Trust Arabia 2023 Ready-To-Wear Prize. His work as Creative Director at Inaash further deepened his commitment to preserving Palestinian embroidery heritage.

Beyond fashion, Amer’s multidisciplinary practice spans murals, textile artworks, and cultural collaborations, including contributions to the Lebanese Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025.

The Riyadh launch signals more than retail presence. It positions amer within Saudi Arabia’s evolving fashion landscape, where storytelling, heritage, and contemporary design increasingly intersect. In bringing his Beirut-born narrative to Riyadh, Ahmed Amer offers a reminder that fashion, at its most powerful, is not just worn — it is felt.
