Bulgari has released a movie that takes you behind the scenes of its most dazzling high jewellery collections, offering a glimpse into a world that, for the most part, is actually pretty secretive. And if a peak behind the bejewelled curtain isn’t enough, it also features ‘friends of the house’ Zendaya, Chiara Ferragni, Lalisa from BLACKPINK, Lily Aldridge, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, all with different backgrounds but sharing a love for Bulgari does best.
The film, titled Inside The Dream, offers an unprecedented look behind the scenes of the entire creative process – from finding the ideal gems to its looks on the red carpet.
This dazzling journey follows jeweller Lucia Silvestri, Creative Director of Bulgari Jewellery. Lucia is known in the industry, and the world over, as the woman who buys the most extraordinary gemstones in the world. If you saw some of Bulgari’s high-end jewellery, you would know why. Her journey started by learning the industry from the Bulgari family themselves and then making her way into the predominantly male-dominated business. Lucia is one of the first women to conquer the world of high jewellery, and being surrounded by the beauty of Rome, she works on every process behind the creation of a Bulgari High Jewellery masterpiece.
The film takes viewers on a worldwide voyage, from the search for precious gems in Jaipur, India, to the conception of a unique piece at Bulgari’s headquarters in Rome, detailing every single facet of the artisanal production, uncovering a unique talent with every stage of the journey towards the creation of wonder.
According to Bulgari, and other jewellers, the ultimate purpose of a gemstone is to be worn. This is Bulgari’s daily mission, to create pieces that will be worn by five of the Maison’s closest friends – Zendaya, Chiara Ferragni, Lalisa from BLACKPINK, Lily Aldridge, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Each of these women, albeit from different backgrounds, shares the same love for breath-taking jewellery.
Inside The Dream gives viewers an insight into the Serpenti Hypnotic Emerald necklace – one of the world’s most treasured pieces of jewellery. The necklace is crafted with a 93.83-carat Colombian cabochon-cut emerald that is set with diamonds and other gemstones. The piece was worn by Zendaya on the red carpet of the 78th Venice International Film Festival. Not only was it the first time the creation was unveiled to the public, but Zendaya was also the only person ever to wear the magnificent piece.
Inside The Dream is produced by Terminal9 Studios and is available on Prime Video. The docufilm is directed by Matthieu Menu and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
