There are makeup launches, and then there are moments built around the people who know exactly what to do with the products once they land in their hands.
For the Dubai launch of its Ultra Snatched Collection, Huda Beauty brought together founder Huda Kattan and LA-based celebrity makeup artist Ariel Tejada, better known as Makeup by Ariel, for an intimate masterclass centred on the art of the sculpted, polished finish.
Known for his signature snatched aesthetic, Ariel used Kattan herself as his model, working with the new Easy Bake Duo and Easy Bake Pressed to create the ultimate Snatched Baddie look.
For Ariel, the effect is less about one product doing all the work than how each step sits over the last.
“I like to layer makeup and that is what is special about this product – it is made for the layering process,” he said. “I like to bake and set my makeup first personally with the Easy Bake Loose Powder and then use Easy Bake Pressed to seal and really snatch the face.”
That process sits within Ariel’s established approach to makeup: highly controlled, camera-ready and built through layers rather than a single dramatic gesture.
“I love the whole concept of being able to lock in my makeup, while also getting a brightening and lifting effect,” Ariel said. “Huda herself took the time to create a product that really blurs and gives you that photo red carpet finished look that I love to achieve with my makeup.” For a makeup artist whose work often relies on structure, precision and finish, that combination is key.
The masterclass brought together two figures whose approaches to beauty have developed in parallel.
“Huda and I have always had so much admiration for one another and respect for each other’s artistry and the things we were doing for the beauty community,” Ariel said. “I feel like we knew each other far before we actually even met.”
That sense of shared language extended beyond technique. Ariel pointed to Kattan’s relationship with her audience and her understanding of the beauty market as part of what made the collaboration feel natural.
“Huda’s passion and love for makeup is something that I really share,” he said. “Huda has such a good understanding of what is needed in the market and whatever she launches for Huda Beauty, I really trust.”
The Dubai event brought together global influencers, beauty enthusiasts and makeup artists for a closer look at the collection and the way it is intended to be used.
In a beauty landscape increasingly obsessed with finish, longevity and technique, the Ultra Snatched Collection arrives with a clear proposition: blur, brighten, set, then sharpen the effect through layering.
And with Huda Kattan in the chair and Ariel Tejada holding the brushes, the launch made the technique part of the story.
