Something Smells Like 2027

fashion

Dubai’s fragrance scene is about to get a new address, and we’re taking notes.

At a recent media breakfast, Notes Dubai gave us a first look at its debut edition, arriving at Dubai Mall Exhibition Centre from 21 to 23 January 2027. Think less traditional trade fair, more meeting point for niche, independent and artistic perfumery.

The biggest reveal? Amouage and Xerjoff are officially on board as founding partners. Amouage will also help bring ‘Accords’ to life, a conference programme exploring the craft, culture and future of fragrance.

Moderated by WWD’s Ritu Upadhyay, the breakfast brought together industry names including Louis Vuitton’s master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud and Xerjoff founder Sergio Momo.

With two days dedicated to industry insiders and a final day for fragrance lovers and collectors, consider this your early warning: Dubai’s scent scene is getting even more interesting.

Time to Get Stacking

fashion

One watch? Cute. But why stop there?

On 13 October, YUNG stopped by LINEA in Dubai for MARLI New York’s How Do You Style a MARLI? experience, an invitation to play dress-up with the jewellery house’s timepieces and some very tempting sparkle.

The concept? Making the pieces your own. Think watches paired with stacks of bracelets, rings brought into the mix and jewellery styled to complement your outfit rather than wait for a special occasion.

From sparkling wrist stacks to an up-close look at the collection, the experience offered plenty of inspiration for anyone who believes accessories deserve just as much attention as the clothes themselves.

And while the timepieces were the starting point, the fun was seeing how the different pieces could change an entire look.

Our takeaway? Being on time is good. Arriving accessorised is better.

An Armani Kind of Night

fashion

Good clothes, good music and a very good bag. Emporio Armani knows how to make an entrance.

YUNG joined the Italian fashion house for an evening dedicated to its Fall/Winter 2026 collection and the Emporio Armani 1981 bag.

The setting? An intimate evening in Dubai, complete with live percussion, an illuminated Armani bar and plenty of fashion to get distracted by.

On the rails, denim, relaxed tailoring and checked jackets gave us a closer look at the season’s wardrobe. But the accessories deserved their own moment.

Enter the 1981 bag collection, where understated leather designs make a convincing case for the everyday bag becoming your most-used accessory. One structured brown handbag in particular had our attention.

Between the music, the clothes and the very tempting handbags, it was a reminder that sometimes the best nights out come with a little wardrobe inspiration.

All I Want for Christmas Is Charlotte

fashion

Forget decking the halls. Charlotte Tilbury has been busy decking the dressing table.

YUNG joined the beauty brand for a festive collection lunch, where Christmas arrived early in a very recognisable shade of red, with plenty of pink and gold for good measure.

The table was dressed for the occasion, but the real centrepieces were the gifts: star-studded sets, tiny drawers of beauty treats and ribbon-wrapped boxes that looked almost too pretty to open. Almost.

On display were Charlotte’s Magic Skin Spa in a Box, makeup palettes, skincare favourites and mascara sets, all practically begging for a place on someone’s wishlist.

It was festive gifting with a beauty-counter twist: equal parts pampering, playful packaging and the kind of Christmas excess we’re absolutely willing to encourage.

Our only complaint? It’s October, and our wishlist is already getting out of hand.

Sweat, But Make It Ganni

Who said workout clothes had to behave?

On 15 October, YUNG headed to lululemon at Dubai Mall as Copenhagen cool met performance wear for the UAE-exclusive launch of GANNI x lululemon.

The 22-piece collection takes its cues from ’80s dance films, mixing lululemon’s technical fabrics with GANNI’s signature leopard print, ruffles and playful colours. Think reworked Define Jackets, leg warmers, boleros and headbands, all ready for a class or a coffee run.

The store dressed for the occasion too. Leopard-print looks took centre stage alongside a pink GANNI DJ booth, branded coffee cups and a photo booth. Subtle? Absolutely not. Did we mind? Not for a second.

The collaboration’s ‘JOY IS A POWER MOVE’ campaign stars Jennifer Beals and METTE, celebrating movement as self-expression.

Our verdict? Going to the gym has never looked quite so Copenhagen.

Givenchy, Up Close and Personal

A little leopard print, a lot of attitude and some seriously good accessories. Givenchy knows how to get our attention.

YUNG stopped by the house’s Winter 2026 press day for a closer look at Sarah Burton’s latest collection, and there was plenty to take in.

From sharp tailoring and textured fabrics to leopard-print pieces, the collection brought together classic Givenchy signatures with Burton’s evolving vision for the house.

But it was the accessories that really caught our eye. Think burgundy boots, sculptural heels and structured handbags, each making a convincing case for letting your accessories do the talking.

Throughout the collection, Burton’s celebration of individuality and femininity was evident, with pieces that balanced sophistication with a little unexpected edge.

Our takeaway? Winter dressing doesn’t have to mean playing it safe. And Givenchy certainly isn’t planning to.

A Fresh Step for Birkenstock

Your favourite clogs just got a Dubai makeover.

YUNG stopped by Birkenstock’s newly reopened Mall of the Emirates store, where a fresh new space came with a hands-on way to celebrate.

Guests got creative with colourful cords and beads, personalising their footwear and proving that even the classics can have a little extra personality.

Inside, the redesign takes inspiration from Dubai itself. Think desert-inspired textures, mashrabiya patterns and curved mirrors referencing traditional dhow sails, all reimagined through Birkenstock’s signature aesthetic.

There was plenty to discover on the shelves, too, including the brand’s elevated 1774 line and a dedicated display celebrating 50 years of the iconic Boston clog.

Between the creative workshops, redesigned interiors and some very tempting footwear, it was a reminder that comfort doesn’t have to be boring.

Same beloved Birkenstocks, a whole new chapter.

Blue Hour, Big Night

Dubai Harbour turned a very particular shade of blue when YUNG joined Guerlain to celebrate its new L’Heure Bleue Eau de Parfum.

On 12 October, the French beauty house transformed the cruise terminal into an immersive world inspired by l’Heure Bleue, that fleeting moment between sunset and night. Think electric-blue lighting, glowing installations and an entire garden of irises. Not your average perfume launch.

Guests explored spaces dedicated to the fragrance’s key notes, from airy ozonic accords and velvety iris to warm vanilla, alongside a recreation of perfumer Delphine Jelk’s creative atelier.

The fragrance itself is a modern reimagining of Jacques Guerlain’s 1912 original, now housed in a blue-gradient version of the house’s iconic inverted-heart bottle.

With music, guests and a venue drenched in blue, Guerlain wasn’t just unveiling a fragrance. It was giving the blue hour its very own party.

On Your Marks, Get Set, Shop

Your next pair of trainers might be calling.

YUNG stopped by Mall of the Emirates for a look inside On’s first UAE store, bringing a little Swiss performance innovation to Dubai’s shopping scene.

Inside, the space is all sleek metallic finishes, minimalist displays and enough trainers to make even the most committed non-runner consider taking up a new hobby.

From colourful CloudTec running shoes to coordinated activewear, the store brings together everything from technical running gear and training essentials to everyday wardrobe favourites. Think pastel sets, oversized sports bags and plenty of reasons to refresh your gym wardrobe.

But it’s not just about the clothes. The opening marks another step in On’s growing presence across the Middle East, bringing its performance-focused designs closer to Dubai’s fitness community.

Our only question? Does buying new running shoes count as cardio?

Oakley Sees Things Differently

Who said shopping for sunglasses had to be low-key?

YUNG stopped by Oakley’s newly reimagined Mall of the Emirates store, where performance gear meets a space that looks straight out of the future.

Reopened in partnership with Al Boom Marine, the 165-square-metre store makes an entrance with sculptural architecture, illuminated branding and digital displays. Inside, a botanical installation enclosed in glass brings a little greenery to all that futuristic design.

Beyond the interiors, there’s plenty to explore: Oakley’s signature eyewear alongside apparel, footwear and accessories for running, cycling, golf, training and the outdoors. The space will also showcase limited-edition releases and collaborations as they arrive.

It’s a store built for people who take their gear seriously, whether they’re training for a marathon or simply committed to an excellent pair of sunglasses.

One thing’s clear: Oakley isn’t doing ordinary retail.

Your Skincare Routine Has a Water Problem

You’ve double-cleansed, layered your serums and invested in the moisturiser. But have you thought about what’s coming out of your tap?

Meet Hello Klean’s Skin Filter, the brand’s first bathroom sink filter designed to make the water you wash your face with a little kinder to your skin.

Rather than adding another product to your already overflowing skincare shelf, it tackles something often overlooked: chlorine, heavy metals and mineral buildup in tap water.

The compact attachment uses three-stage filtration to reduce impurities, with laboratory testing showing around 98% chlorine reduction when new. There’s also a microbubble setting for a more thorough cleanse and HydroTrack technology that tells you when it’s time to replace your filter.

Designed to help minimise water-related skin irritation and dryness, it’s a different approach to looking after your skin.

Because sometimes the skincare upgrade you need isn’t another serum. It’s your sink.

Jimmy Choo Has a Pearl of an Idea

Who said pearls belong only in a jewellery box?

YUNG got a closer look at Jimmy Choo’s Pearls of Wisdom capsule collection, celebrated with a bespoke artistic commission by Beirut-based architect and maker Shaha Raphael.

Known for transforming shells, fossils and geological traces into sculptural objects, Raphael brought her fascination with nature to the fashion house through site-specific pieces made from Azul Cielo marble and aluminium.

Inspired by the textures and fluid shapes created by the sea, the commission explored the contrast between raw, organic forms and carefully crafted design. It’s a fitting connection to the pearl itself: something created by nature over time, then treasured for its beauty.

The result was a meeting of fashion, art and craftsmanship that gave the collection a story beyond the accessories.

Consider this your reminder: sometimes the most beautiful things take time.

A Little Zen, A Lot of Sparkle

Diamonds and deep breaths? Now that’s our kind of morning.

YUNG joined Pasquale Bruni and Ahmed Seddiqi at Villa Sage Wellness Centre for a morning where fine jewellery met a little much-needed calm.

The space was dressed in flowers, greenery and nature-inspired details, setting the scene for the Italian jewellery house’s botanical designs. On display, diamond-studded flowers shimmered against vivid red and black displays, making a convincing case for bringing a little garden into your jewellery box.

But there was more to the morning than admiring the sparkle. Guests settled onto mats for a sound bath, accompanied by soothing sounds and mantras celebrating our connection to nature.

Between the sculptural blooms and a moment to switch off, the experience brought the brand’s love of the natural world to life.

Our takeaway? Inner peace looks even better with diamonds.
