These Are The Best Sneaker Drops For 2022
Yaseen Dockrat

As we approach the end of the year, it’s probably a good time to review your sneaker game – what you haver on lock and what’s missing from your collection. While December’s Sole DXB will likely be a rich source of hype, allow YUNG’s cook group to offer some drops for your diary between now and the end of 2022.

Air Jordan 1 High OG “Lost & Found”

Sneaker

This one is inspired by mom-and-pop shops from the ’80s. The release also pays homage to the early days of Jordan Brand when it was still possible to find Chicago AJ1’s deadstock laying in aged boxes. The shoe features an updated silhouette of the original shape from its 1985 release. The Varsity Red, Black, Sail and Muslin colourway sit atop a clean white base that is accented by red overlays. Adding to the vintage aesthetic, the shoe comes boxed in a retro Nike shoebox from that era. Inside the box, the shoes are wrapped in graphic tissue paper which is marked with vintage newspaper clippings, as well as an ’80s sale invoice. The Air Jordan 1 High OG Lost & Found is set to release on November 19.

Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 Low Black Phantom

Sneaker

The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low Black Phantom was first released in pre-school sizes. Now, gearing up for the holiday season, the pair have released official imagery. The latest silhouette from La Flame and the Swoosh move away from the earthy tones that have marked the collaboration thus far. The low cut is now rendered in shiny black suede, accented by white stitching. As with all Travis’s Jordans, the shoe features a reverse swoosh on the outside and a conventional swoosh on the medial side. The Black Phantom releases the latest bee motif, which we expect to see on all future Travis Scott shoes. Inside the box, there are three lace options to modify your look from the base up. The Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 Black Phantom will be available on December 15.

Nike Dunk High Somos Familia

Sneaker

It’s a tradition at the Oregon-based sportswear company to celebrate Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead). This year the brand has created a special Dunk High and Air Force 1 Low for the latest Somos Familia capsule. Dia de Muertos is a Mexican celebration that includes altars and ofrendas to bring deceased loved ones back home. The Dunk Highs are created to represent salt and water, both of which are common items used in the celebration. The upper exterior features Yellow Ochre while the toe boxes are finished off with embroidery inspired by the sun. The shoe will release on October 26, just in time for the celebration.

Reebok BB 4000 II

Sneaker

Reebok has been revisiting some of its popular basketball sneakers from the years past, bringing to life shoes worn by Shaq, Allen Iverson, and Shawn Kemp. Further cementing itself as a basketball heritage brand, Reebok has turned its attention to the BB 400 II – a lifestyle shoe that has court DNA. The shoe first appeared in the ’80s, and due to its crossover appeal from concrete to hardwood, Reebok revealed a handful of colourways from 1989 and the years that followed. For the relaunch, Reebok is celebrating three important moments in its history. The White/Green pair is a nod to the Boston Celtics’ ’86 NBA Playoff run, as well as the brand headquarters. The White/Grey/Red colourway is an ode to the Reebok Pump Twilight Zone from 1990, and the Black/White/Orange option is a celebration of Dee Brown’s famous no-look dunk in 91. The shoe will release on October 28.
