At the heart of the Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph beats the extraordinary RD780 caliber. This chronograph caliber, built from scratch, integrates the complication seamlessly into the movement. The Maison’s skilled watchmakers have meticulously designed every aspect of the caliber, resulting in a harmonious blend of precise timekeeping and measurement. Positioned at 6 o’clock, and visible from the front, the column wheel enhances the smooth operation of the pushers, while the vertical clutch ensures unrivaled precision and the innovative Second Braking System (SBS) guarantees stability and accuracy of the chronograph’s seconds hand. A playful touch can be seen as the movement reveals an unexpected 120° Rotating Minute Counter (RMC) at 3 o’clock – crafted in a radical isotoxal shape. With a 72-hour power reserve, the watch is also resistant to everyday knocks thanks its tilted balance wheel.
Beyond its technical prowess, the Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph turns heads with its captivating design. The 45mm lightweight carbon case draws inspiration from supercar construction, featuring signature notches and sharp lines. The carbon and ceramic bezel pay homage to high-performance components, seamlessly blending form and function. The multi-dimensional design of the watch adds a dynamic and expressive aesthetic.
The Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph is rounded off by a black rubber strap with notches for extra volume. On the inner layer, a distinctive pattern recalls screeching tyre marks, while the Quick Release System ensures the wearer can change the strap in seconds.
As the Official Timing Partner of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Roger Dubuis will unveil the Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph at the prestigious event.
