When Bubba Watson met Richard Mille some time back, the two hit it off right from the beginning. The initial meeting led to the two joining forces, and soon, Watson would become the Swiss Watchmakers‘ face, adorning the famous RM 38-02 Tourbillion while putting holes in one.

Since 2011 the golfer has asked the watchmaker to create a bright pink iteration, but the response has always been a firm negative. Until recently, the pair have come together to create a vibrant pink iteration of the famous tourbillion watch.

The pink iteration of RM 380-02 features a case made from Carbon TPT and Quartz TPT- both of which are exclusive Richard Mille materials – instead of the classic metal case, making the watch extremely lightweight and perfect to be worn on an 18-hole course. As with most other iterations in this line, the watch features Richard Mille’s in-house RM38-02 manual winding movement. The skeleton dial is a striking stage for the tourbillion movement and is suspended by PVD treated titanium bridges. The watch has a 70-hour power reserve, and the movement can be seen from either side of the case due to the transparent crystal sapphire case.

‘I have been pushing Richard for a pink watch for ten years, and here it is!’ Watson said when he saw the watch for the first time.

The watch features a manual winding movement and comes with a torque-limiting crown. The security system of the crown prevents any accidental overwinding of the watch, preventing any damage to the winding stem. The system also prevents extreme pressure from being placed on the barrel spring, resulting from over-winding.

The limited-edition watch will be produced in a limited edition of fifty pieces. The RM 38-02 is the watchmaking equivalent to a hole in o in golfing terms.
