Sabato De Sarno unveiled his captivating vision for Gucci’s (Instagram) menswear in Milan, presenting a lucid embodiment of his “Ancora” manifesto. In Italian, Ancora means “again” and in De Sarno’s Gucci universe, it signifies “a story of everything, again, but this time expressed through joy.” The menswear line weaves this sartorial tale, embracing sophistication and glamour, resonating with patrons of refined taste.

The show unfolded at Milan’s Fonderia Carlo Macchi, an industrial setting with colossal metal beams and sleek cement floors. De Sarno’s debut menswear line reflected neutral suits, reminiscent of his previous women’s collection, now tailored with broader structures for the male form. Leather gloves and bags, donned in the iconic Gucci Rosso, played a pivotal role, showcasing the colour that has become synonymous with Gucci’s aesthetic.

Drawing inspiration from Gucci’s archives, the collection featured shiny leather jackets, exquisite jacquard workwear shirts, sleek sweaters, and a range of leather goods, from crossbody bags to backpacks, all flaunting the bold Gucci Rosso hue. The designer’s commitment to poise was evident in smartly tailored formal shapes, each coat and jacket exuding an untouchable allure. While trousers adhered to business dress codes, denim iterations added a streetwear flair to the collection.

The collection caters to classic silhouettes, while also exploring bold, fantastical details. Crystal-studded overcoats, feathered finishes, glossy-hooded sweaters, and glittering tank tops cater to the fashion-forward, embodying De Sarno’s vision of a collection “completely free and filled with euphoria.” It’s the essence of Gucci Ancora.

A stunning collection, we look forward to what’s to come.
