Boss (Instagram) turned heads as it unveiled its Fall/Winter 2023 collection at Milan Fashion Week. The collection, aptly named “CorpCore,” not only re-imagined traditional office attire but also transformed the runway into the Boss Techtopia—a fusion of technology, tranquillity, and style. To do so, the House merged advanced, future tech such as robotics, with verdant green spaces, through this the Boss Techtopia suggested a positive, progressive view of the future.

At the heart of Boss Techtopia stood Sophia, the world’s most advanced robot citizen designed by Hanson Robotics. Sophia manned the entrance, interacted with guests, recognizing faces and emotions, an unexpected yet intriguing addition to the front row.

“The Boss Fall/Winter 2023 collection is an evolution of our brand’s tailoring heritage,” said Marco Falcioni, SVP of Creative Direction at Hugo Boss. “I loved the creative challenge of taking the traditional office attire of the executive – a look not typically associated with breaking boundaries – and shaking it up to make it new, exciting, and representative of the multi-faceted modern BOSS. It’s a celebration of suiting as a tool for empowerment, confidence, and individuality – values that drive our core message, ‘Be Your Own Boss’.”

The collection introduces modern, super-stretch suiting crafted from the brand’s bestselling performance fabric. Traditional patterns breathe new life into these designs, while deconstructed elements pay homage to Boss’s signature craftsmanship, offering a refreshing take on classic styles. Boxy cuts receive definition through belting, while deep slits and double-way zips add intrigue and versatility to timeless silhouettes.

The collection boasts crisp, structured fabrics and sharp silhouettes, emphasizing a clean, uninterrupted look. Traditional button and zip placements are re-imagined, placing the spotlight on BOSS’s tailoring expertise. A sophisticated, muted colour palette draws inspiration from the neutral hues commonly found in corporate settings, ranging from timeless gray and white to shades of brown and green. Black, a classic BOSS colour, makes a prominent appearance, adorning pieces embellished with the signature B-monogram pattern, a nod to the brand’s corporate identity.

Accessories take a playful turn as office objects like paper clips, pens, and folders are reworked in unexpected ways. Intriguing details, such as numerical locks on briefcases, provide statement finishes to bags and shoes.

BOSS’s commitment to sustainability and innovation shines through with the inclusion of three limited-edition outerwear styles crafted from HeiQ AeoniQ™ fabric. This environmentally friendly material serves as a substitute for oil-based filament yarns, reducing the collection’s environmental impact.

An incredible re-imagining of traditional staples, if you pardon the pun, CorpCore is a much needed development and who better to do it than Boss?
