Thameen London, the renowned British fragrance brand, (Instagram) has announced the launch of its newest scent, Bravi, as part of The Britologne Collection. This unique fragrance, created under the artistic residency of Christopher Chong, takes inspiration from the world of opera and profound bonds of friendship.

Bravi’s journey begins at the iconic opera house in Covent Garden. Christopher Chong, the artistic visionary behind the fragrance, shares his inspiration, “I missed going to the opera with my friends during the pandemic. As soon as restrictions were lifted, I organized box seats for the opening of a new production, so I could reunite with friends who shared the same passion. It also happened by chance that a good friend of mine was the diva of the opera. Perfumer Bruno Jovanovic, whom I haven’t seen for some time, was amongst the invited. After the performance, I mentioned to Bruno that it would be wonderful to mark the occasion with a fragrance to remember humane attributes we take for granted – trust, friendship, and loyalty.”

Bruno Jovanovic, the master perfumer, crafted Bravi as a captivating olfactory display. This fragrance is the final chapter of the Covent Garden trilogy, a tribute to wannabe divos and a diva. It embodies the idea of a Queen of the Night flower fragrance, an essential element of the opera’s magic. With Christopher Chong’s artistic touch and Bruno Jovanovic’s expertise, the scent weaves a story of magic and mishaps, capturing the essence of the opera. Intoxicating tuberose is spiced up with an overdose of ginger and dramatized with a novel walnut milk accord. The result is an opulent, evening-ready fragrance that accentuates the tension between its notes.

Bravi celebrates the values of trust, friendship, and loyalty through the lens of divos’ tantrums and diva’s mishaps. It’s a testament to the enduring spirit of camaraderie. As Christopher Chong aptly puts it, “Bravo is an Italian word to express approval with clapping and shouting when a performer has given a superb performance. We use the plural form of the word, bravi, to reinforce our genderful ethos to be inclusive of all genders, identities, and unbearable divos and divas.”

Alongside the launch of Bravi, Thameen London has opened its second standalone store in Dubai Mall. This follows on from the first store opened in Nakheel Mall, Riyadh in 2022. “We are delighted to open our standalone store in Dubai Mall as part of our drive to expand the brand internationally. This development marks the beginning of a new direction, whereby we intend to open branded, standalone stores, in key cities around the world, in order to express, in its purest sense, the British DNA of the Thameen London brand and heritage,” said CEO David Crickmore.
