Prada Linea Rossa continues to push boundaries, teaming up with Red Bull athlete Brian Grubb for an unprecedented event – WakeBASE. This daring adventure unfolds atop Dubai’s Address Beach Resort, where Grubb embarks on a heart-stopping journey – a 94-meter wakeskate towed by a drone, followed by a seamless 77-story BASE jump, setting a historic record.
Perched atop the sky bridge at Dubai’s Address Beach Resort, the Guinness World Record-holding infinity pool sits an astounding 294 meters above sea level.
Brian Grubb’s aquatic journey began before he could even read or write. Growing up amidst the rustic charm of New Hampshire, his summers by a lake in Indiana ignited a love affair with the water. A move to Orlando, although daunting for many teens, unraveled a realm of possibilities, especially with the rising tide of wakeboarding.
At the Orlando wakeboarding pro shop, Grubb immersed himself in the craft, learning from the sport’s luminaries. Transitioning from wakeboarding to wakeskating, his skills became a passport to global adventures. Named the 2001 Alliance Rider of the Year, Grubb turned pro at 23, clinching the 2003 Wakeskate National and World Championships as a rookie.
Beyond competitions, Grubb’s wanderlust led him worldwide, crafting unforgettable videos – from the rice fields of the Philippines to the Brazilian desert and gliding over Cleopatra’s Pool at Turkey’s Pamukkale Hot Springs.
Prada Linea Rossa outfitted Brian Grubb with gear designed for the demands of WakeBASE. The collection seamlessly combines comfort and performance, offering versatility for extreme sports. From multilayer and elastic structures to heat sealing and high-performance details, Prada Linea Rossa ensures Grubb’s equipment matches the intensity of his daring stunts.
