For 150 years, Audemars Piguet (Instagram) has been at the forefront of watchmaking innovation. To mark this milestone, the Swiss luxury brand introduces the Calibre 7138—a new-generation perpetual calendar movement that takes precision, functionality, and design to another level. This latest breakthrough ensures a seamless user experience, eliminating the need for additional tools by integrating all adjustments into a single crown.

Historically, perpetual calendars have been prized complications, mimicking the natural cycles of celestial bodies to track time with near-perfection. However, their complexity often required cumbersome manual corrections. With the Calibre 7138, Audemars Piguet challenges tradition by streamlining the process, making it more intuitive for the modern wearer. The “all-in-one” crown allows easy adjustments of all calendar functions—date, month, leap year, and moon phases—without risk of damaging the mechanism.

The Calibre 7138 debuts in three distinct models: the 41mm Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet in white gold, a Royal Oak in stainless steel, and an 18-carat sand gold Royal Oak. These timepieces showcase refined craftsmanship, from the iconic “Grande Tapisserie” patterned dials to meticulous haute horlogerie finishes. Notably, the moon phase complication features a hyper-realistic depiction of the lunar surface, based on NASA photography, elevating its aesthetic appeal.

Audemars Piguet has prioritized ergonomics, ensuring effortless usability. Traditional perpetual calendar watches require multiple side pushers for adjustments, making corrections time-consuming. The innovative crown system of Calibre 7138 eliminates this, allowing wearers to fine-tune their timepiece without external tools.

Additionally, a red no-correction zone indicator between 9 PM and 3 AM safeguards against accidental misadjustments and potential damage. Meanwhile, the subdials have been rearranged for enhanced legibility, displaying the day, date, and month in a European format.

To mark the Manufacture’s 150th anniversary, the three models showcased above are also available in an exclusive limited edition of 150 pieces each. While they share the same aesthetics as the standard collection, these special editions feature refined design elements created specifically for the celebration.

Notable details include a vintage “Audemars Piguet” signature, inspired by historical archives, elegantly placed within the moon-phase subdial at 6 o’clock. Additionally, the sapphire caseback frame is adorned with two commemorative engravings: the bespoke “150” logo designed for the occasion and the inscription “1 of 150 pieces.”
