GOOD ENERGY ONLY

On the Scene

Dubai’s fitness calendar got a feel-good upgrade, and no, it wasn’t another treadmill session.

To mark Dubai Fitness Challenge, lululemon brought Move, Connect, Feel to Jubilee Park at Expo City Dubai on 30 and 31 October, putting community at the centre of the workout.

The two-day programme offered two different ways to move. Friday’s SANCTUM Flow, led by lululemon ambassadors Kaya and Daria, mixed intentional movement, meditation and music for a collective reset. On Saturday, ambassadors Amanda and Kiki guided Move Freely, a gentler Pilates session timed with sunset.

Beyond the sessions, guests were invited to arrive early for wellness experiences, food and a chance to connect with fellow movement lovers. The idea? Make fitness feel less like another thing to tick off and more like time well spent.

Because sometimes the best workout is the one that leaves you feeling connected.

DEAR JAIPUR, WITH LOVE

On the Scene

If there’s one city that knows how to do colour, it’s Jaipur.

At The Lana, Dorchester Collection in Dubai, The Diamond Lab unveiled Love Letters to India on 2 November, introducing its first high jewellery collection in the UAE. Co-hosted by Rabih Rowel, the intimate launch brought together collectors, tastemakers and press for a closer look at a personal project.

The collection grew from co-founder Jamie Patel’s journey to reconnect with her Indian heritage. Jaipur’s flower markets, pink architecture and blue pottery all found their way into vivid pieces featuring laboratory-grown emeralds, rubies and sapphires alongside diamonds.

Look closer and you’ll find emerald designs inspired by historic stepwells, pink Asscher designs nodding to the city’s facades, and a blue creation informed by peacocks.

And there’s more news: the London jewellery house is planning a Dubai store.

Consider this a love letter worth opening.

ALL ABOARD THE PILATES CLUB

On the Scene

Pilates with a sea breeze? Dubai Fitness Challenge understood the assignment.

The Queen Elizabeth 2 teamed up with SEVEN Wellness for a series of mat Pilates classes on board the iconic ocean liner, transforming the floating hotel into a rather unexpected workout destination.

Held on 31 October and 1 November, the sessions marked the start of Dubai 30×30, the initiative encouraging residents to move for 30 minutes a day over 30 days.

With Port Rashid and Dubai’s skyline providing the backdrop, SEVEN’s trainers led classes focused on core strength, posture and flexibility. Open to beginners and regular Pilates fans alike, it was all about taking time to move mindfully, with mats provided on deck.

A little fresh air, a change of scenery and a workout that didn’t involve staring at a studio wall? We’re sold.

Apparently, the most interesting fitness studios in Dubai float.

DESIGN IS ON THE MENU

On the Scene

Dinner party inspiration? Soho House just raised the bar.

For Dubai Design Week, Soho House brought its Cities Without Houses community together at the Palm home of multidisciplinary designer Haya Jarrar, turning an intimate dinner into an evening of art and conversation.

The setting was every design lover’s dream: a long table running through the space, transformed with table art by artist Iman Coccellato. Cocktails and a seated dinner made room for guests to connect, from designers and artists to fashion critics and members of the media.

According to YUNG’s attendees, the evening brought together both familiar faces from Dubai’s creative scene and newcomers experiencing the Soho House community for the first time.

There was no runway or red carpet needed. The point was simpler, and perhaps more meaningful: making space for different creative worlds to meet.

Our takeaway? Sometimes the best design conversations happen around the dinner table.

GOOD ART, BETTER PYJAMAS

On the Scene

Who says art belongs on a wall? One of a Kin would rather you wore it to bed.

YUNG got a look at the Dubai sleepwear label’s collaboration with Brazilian artist Romero Britto, where his bold colours, playful characters and signature optimism have found a new home: pyjamas.

To celebrate, the brand turned its launch into a gallery with a twist. Instead of conventional canvases, sleepwear was displayed in frames like original artworks. And for once, touching the art was very much encouraged.

The intimate evening brought together fashion, media and creative guests, with Britto himself in attendance. A live violin performance accompanied dinner, while colourful installations brought his unmistakable world into the room.

It was a clever way to bring the collaboration’s theme, When Art Becomes Personal, to life.

Because why should collecting art end at the gallery door? Sometimes, the most personal canvas is your wardrobe.

ALL THAT GLITTERS

On the Scene

Dubai is about to get a serious dose of sparkle.

For its third edition, Ahmed Seddiqi’s Jewellery Show brings more than 20 established Maisons and emerging designers together at L’Ambassade Villa from 5 to 7 November.

This year’s theme, The Field of Light, uses reflection and changing perspectives to put the jewellery in a new light. Expect everything from Chopard, Pomellato and Pasquale Bruni to creations by regional and independent names including Noora Shawqi and Misk.

Beyond the displays, the three-day event is designed for discovery, with opportunities to meet designers, explore the craftsmanship behind the pieces and spend time in elegant lounge spaces. Curated dining and live entertainment complete the programme.

The best part? It’s open to the public, so you don’t need to be a jewellery insider to appreciate the artistry.

Consider this your invitation to look a little closer.

UNDER THE SILVER SEA

On the Scene

A dinner party under the sea? Buccellati took on the challenge.

At Downtown Design Dubai, the Italian jewellery and silverware Maison is presenting Aquae Mirabiles, an immersive installation that brings a fantastical underwater banquet to Dubai Design District.

Conceived by Balich Wonder Studio, curated by Federica Sala and developed with British artist Luke Edward Hall, the space places Buccellati’s Caviar silverware centre stage. Think a wave-shaped dining table, gleaming silver sturgeon sculptures and watercolour illustrations tracing the history and mythology of Italian caviar.

And yes, the name is literal: the collection’s tiny silver spheres echo the texture of sturgeon roe, turning bowls, spoons and tableware into miniature works of art.

Visitors can also discover jewellery from the house’s collections, including the latest Torsadé designs.

The whole thing makes a compelling case for dressing your table as thoughtfully as yourself.

Suddenly, our dinnerware feels a little underdressed.

A LITTLE SEVENTIES NOSTALGIA

On the Scene

Your next signature scent might be having a seventies moment.

Chloé’s new fragrance, Le Nectar, takes the house’s free-spirited attitude and turns up the warmth, with a gourmand composition that feels nostalgic without being stuck in the past.

Created by perfumer Romain Almairac, it opens with bright bergamot before moving into a floral heart of neroli, orange blossom and rose. As it settles, tonka, amber and patchouli add a deeper, more enveloping finish, alongside sandalwood and soft musky woods.

The inspiration is unmistakably Chloé: the confident, independent femininity associated with the 1970s, reinterpreted for today. Even the bottle joins in, with the house’s signature pleated glass dressed in an amber tone and finished with a golden-beige ribbon.

Available in refillable 30, 50 and 100 ml sizes, it’s designed to stay in your fragrance rotation.

Consider it a little vintage romance, bottled for right now.

DREAMS OF THE DUNE

On the Scene

Tailoring meets streetwear, and the desert gets the final say.

Giorgio Armani and KITH came together for an exclusive Dubai evening at KOA Canvas Pavilion in Al Barari on 3 November, celebrating Dreams of the Dune, the third chapter of their menswear collaboration.

The collection brings Giorgio Armani’s relaxed tailoring into KITH’s contemporary world. Think deconstructed jackets, soft shoulders, wide trousers and utility details, all rendered in a palette that moves from midnight blue and dark brown to sandy neutrals and icy white.

Inspired by desert landscapes, the pieces include rich suede and shearling outerwear alongside more casual wardrobe staples. KITH founder Ronnie Fieg’s approach brings a new attitude to the Italian house’s familiar silhouettes.

The collection made its runway debut at sunset in Morocco’s Agafay Desert before its October global release, making the Dubai gathering a celebration rather than a first launch.

Old-school tailoring, new-school energy. Consider us intrigued.
