For Spring Summer 2023 Menswear collection, Sylvia Venturini Fendi looked to the world around her for inspiration. The collection is built on a constant play of contrasts and juxtapositions. Much like the Fendi logo, the collection is upside down and inside out. Fendi’s Spring Summer combines an array of textures and prints alongside watercolour and distressed denim, and animal prints.

“It’s about a balance of decoration and simplicity,” Silvia Venturini Fendi says, “An ageless sense of freedom to play, as we rediscover the luxury of free time.” Nostalgia and innovation play a pivotal role in creating a classic men’s wardrobe of familiar shapes and materials.

The colour palette consists of a burst of colour that reflects the earth, sea, and sky in shades of melon and indigo, ochre, putty, cornflower blue and silver grey. Weather patterns are printed on thermographic jacquard coats, while denim sets and the iconic Baguette bag are created from cowhide motifs to continue naturalistic references. Intertwining reality and fantasy, distressed trompe l’oeil prints feature on plush robes and the cotton twill shirt jacket, cut in long-line 5-pocket jeans.

Boxy point-collar shirts are cut with crisp poplin, technical cotton, and ripstop, while anorak and raincoats are adorned with ultrasound Selleria bonded topstitching or leather patch pocket shadows. Wide trousers come in ultralight wool, panelled denim, or calfskin pool at the ankles to project this season’s languid ease.

From Cowhide skate sneakers with terry lacing to lug-sole giant O’Lock buckle loafers and denim or suede moccasins, FENDI’s footwear offering resounds with the season’s heightened sense of materiality. Slip-on slides come super-sized with an over inflatable Fendi motif, while bucket-hats become visors.

Fendi’s latest Roma bucket bag and duffel styles come in toile and leather and feature a wrap-around logo. The bright summer Peekaboo ISeeU Forty8 is crafted from recycled plastic. The first Peekaboo Petit for men debuted in cowhide, with a beaded daisy chain strap.
